Following last week's terrorist attack near Moscow at the Crocus City Hall, where gunmen opened fire on concert attendees and set the venue ablaze, the death toll has risen to 140, with 182 injured.
The Baza news service reported 95 people are still unaccounted for, based on emergency services lists generated from family reports of missing relatives. These individuals had not been in contact since the attack and were not listed among the wounded or dead.
Russian investigators attribute the massacre to four gunmen with Kalashnikovs, finding over 500 shell casings at the scene. The attack occurred just before the band "Picnic" was to perform to a 6,200-person audience. It's estimated over 200 individuals might have been inside the building right before its roof caved in.
In the aftermath, social media and Telegram channels like "Crocus. Help Centre" became platforms for friends and relatives seeking information on missing loved ones.
Despite the chaos and uncertainty, local media and social media posts have highlighted stories of individuals like Dmitry Bashlykov, a Moscow schoolteacher, and 15-year-old Arseny, both of whom attended the concert and were later confirmed dead. The official list of fatalities from Russia's emergencies ministry continues to be updated as identifications are made.
